This last weekend was Christmas Open House at Evanwhit! Barb spent days hunting up all her corgi ornaments and decorating everything that was standing still. I think I even saw decorations on several dogs.. must have been taking a nap at the wrong time!  As ever, for all Evanwhit visiting days, the pups are welcome to come with their people for a play-day. Saturday was "Tri-color Day" with many of last spring's pups attending. The big boys showed 14 wk old Wilbur how it's done! Little Wilbur ran himself into the ground and slept like a log all night. It's great when all your big cousins come over to play!
Sometimes the best way to spend a cold winter day is to take a nice long nap! Kate-
Bella and mom Lori recently. They're from the Canadian branch of the Evanwhit family!
Angie and Quigley in their first weekend of conformation shows at Whidbey Island Kennel Club show in Monroe. Saturday was a bit rough.. little dog with his head on a swivel.. but things began to come together on Sunday for a solid outing. Showing can be nerve-racking and seemingly subjective at times, but it flows when everything comes together! This will be a good team once they've found their groove and baby boy has grown up a bit more.
New puppy parents, Peter and Stef, sent us some photos of "Loki" in his new home. Looks like he moved right in and made himself at home! Loki's kitty sister is teaching him all the rules.
Hope everyone remembered to turn their clocks back. Kate is trying to stay up for our "normal" bedtime but is obviously a sleepy puppy.
One of the many decisions to consider... should I let them on the furniture or not? Well that's easy! If you're over 50, it's alot easier to cuddle when the dog can come to you, rather than having to bend down to the dog!
It took Barb and I about 30 pictures to catch this little guy! This is "Pup-Pup" or "Bomber" if you're Norwegian. His Momma is Freya so all of the litter carry Scandinavian handles as well as any subsequent titles/ names earned from daily activities.
Olaf's Mom, Jill, shared these great pictures of his first trip where he met uncle Mojo. Looks like Mojo will be a great mentor for the "laid-back" life for our young lad!
Puppy parents Jamie and Daniel shared this great shot of "Riker" recently. How have they kept him from chewing up the neat bed?
Two of Maeve's girls, Kate and Cassie, now 5 months old with friend, Max before our puppy class session with Rhonda Coombs today. We learned that Kate appears to have a bit of her Grandma Jenny in her make-up when she laid down and threw a fit upon deciding she didn't want to continue loose-leash walking! We'll be working on this...
Tinker's son Wilbur enjoying time on Mom's lap after his evening bottle. This little man is a goer!
This is Quigley, Angie and Cliff's handsome Paschetta son on the day he went to his new home. He's now a monster teenager!
Caught up with puppy mom, Sherry, yesterday during our search for Paschetta. Sherry shared some stories and pictures of "Ringo", Paschetta's son. Ringo and his new running mate, Razzy, are settling in nicely!
This has been a tough week. Paschetta has gone missing since last Sunday. After doing all the basics, the last few days have been spent out walking the woods with so many great volunteers. Each day has been long, hard and ................. heart wrenching. Chicken dinner with the dogs finally brought a smile at the end of the day.
Puppy Mom, Jill sent us some great pictures of Olaf in "recovery mode" after a high-energy morning!
Puppy Mom, Lori sent us some new pictures of Bella! Looks like they're having way too much fun.  Lori's workin' on finding our O-Fish-Al fancy name... What do you think... Lyric and Debbie Allen had another good day- Winner's Bitch and Best of Winners at the Gig Harbor Kennel Club Show!
Kate got her rabies shot this morning.... all was going well. We stood quietly while the doc gave us our shot. Must have been thinking about it however... a full minute later, the little head rocks back and the screaming began. OMG!
Harley, still a little bewildered, in her new home. Mom, Valerie sent us some pics from the first day- Thanks!
To quote Dr. Seuss, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” Boitano Mr. Easy, CGC "Brad" 2-21-2000 to 8-29-2014, my boy.  -P-
Well... this was a busy week for Maeve's and Jaz's litters- all in their new forever homes! We received a number of great pictures of the "kids" as they learn their new worlds. Corbin has found new ways to relax into his TV time. Thanks Brittany. Remy has begun her puppy class and is discovering new friends. Thanks Whitney. For anyone who doubts that the pups don't have good memories... here's a picture of Remy greeting Barb on our last Puppy Sunday. It's always fun to come home for a visit to Grandma's! Kate learned all about the wonderful new world of ocean sniffs at Birch Bay. She also discovered that it's hard to "romp" over sharp little barnacles and that just because it fits in your mouth doesn't mean it will taste good!
Leslie sent us some pictures of "Woodrow" .. the largest pup from Maeve's litter who seems to have moved right in and made himself at home! Mom says he's real good at holding down the rug! Well... it's a start!
This is a card "out of the past" of a corgi puppy. Look at the wooden pen! Cards used to come in packs of cigarettes as well as in decks of playing cards.
Meet "Remy"! She recently found her forever home with her Mom, Whitney who kindly sent us a few pictures from the 1st 24 hrs.
This is Corbin who works at Amazon with Mom, Brittany. Hanging out while Mom has a meeting with the hoomans. Break time out on the lawn.
For all those who've forgotten about those evil, sharp, little puppy teeth!
Barb and Bubbles Evanwhit spent the day at the CPWCC Specialty in Olympia, WA Barb and Lyric Lyric Becky and Chaucer- new title!
Big red girl, now "Kate" flaked out after a hard play session with Mom, "Maeve". Moving to our forever home, learning about new toys, how to go up and down a ramp, our big brother, "Brad" and chicken in our dinner- all very hard work for a puppy girl. Mom brings out the "demon-child" in baby Kate!
Puppies are 10 weeks old and doing their best to remain cool in the summer heat between bouts of crazed playing! Here's three of the girls and the big boy keeping an eye on the proceedings... got cookies?
Last week all the pups had their DM tests done. We're hoping to know the results by next weekend. The four girls all headed for the cool stone entry way for a nap part-way thru Puppy Sunday. The day was hot and everyone was playing full-out. It won't be long before everyone goes to their new homes!
Puppies are 8 weeks old and just had their first vaccination. This past week, with the first real run of summer heat, they've all learned to burrow under the mats in their play pen to get close to the cool dirt leaving the play pen empty to the casual eye except for a large lump in the matting! With the addition of hamburger meat to their meals the puppies are growing like weeds showing more and more of the personalities they'll grow into. This is a "gentle" group compared to most litters- thoughtful and loving.
