Corgi Races 2018

Team Evanwhit participated in the Emerald Downs Corgi Races once again this year and crowned a new finalist, Lori and Bella! Congratulations. We were well represented by Olaf, Chunky, Anwyn and Bella. Lori took home Mariners tickets and memories of one more crazy Evanwhit experience!

Buster and Missy

One of the questions that often comes during puppy visiting days is "Will a corgi get along with my ________?" As everyone soon learns from Barb's collection of animals, as long as they're introduced when the puppy is young, there's not much that can't be worked out. The picture above is Connie's household, Buster the rabbit and Missy, best buddy!

Dash

Carla and Pete recently sent us images of "Dash" in his new home. This is Wilber and Jaz's wild child  Looks like he's made himself right at home!

Sy and Peggy are at it again!

"SyGuy", Evanwhit Behold the Star, and Peggy Cobb in recent Spring agility trials, rolling along!
It's Puppy Sunday at Evanwhit!  Jazz and Wilbur's kids are just about ready to go to their new homes and bent on enjoying their time together. We pulled out the water bottle pit for the first time with these pups and the chaos began.  There were a few others who had something to say about all this craziness in the yard today. How fast can we remove all these bottles? Some of us don't want to share the bottle pit with our brothers and sisters; but persistence and puppy energy can beat all odds!
Bella, Bella, Bella! The wonderful team of Lori and Bella are continuing their assault on the obedience world. Here she is with her recent CKC Top Rally Dog Award.

Liam!

Some of the first pictures to come back from Lyric's much anticipated litter in their new homes. Liam is settling in nicely with Matt and Sarah. There may be some doubts about wearing clothes however... Hard to decide if it's an "ears up" or "ears down" day during growth spurts!

Henry at Puyallup

Still a puppy boy, but Henry is beginning to understand his time in the show ring! The Puyallup Cluster shows saw Shelby at the other end of the leash. Thanks Shelby! Here's a little video of them. https://goo.gl/photos/4UrhahKpzCV2Tqvq8

The 2017 Emerald Downs Corgi Races!

August 6, 2017 was the first annual Corgi Races at Emerald Downs in Auburn, WA. Evanwhit attended in grand fashion! Back in March Grant  began a Team Evanwhit Facebook page for planning and coordination. 4 Evanwhit dogs and 1 "guest" ran under the team colors. In the saddling paddock each dog was given their gate number on a bandana. Anwyn shows off her number at the left. It took 4 heats to run all 41 entered corgis to set up the final, championship race. Emma, our guest Evanwhit wearing her bandana prior to heading for the track with Mom, Angie. Emma was our "senior" racer and ran well. Martin and Sherrie Ola-Stroebel's Ringo  out ran 39 others to place 2nd in the championship race at the end of the day and made Team Evanwhit proud! He took 1st place for best groomed, handsome young corgi and crowd favorite!   Other Evanwhit dogs in the races were Chunky Monkey and Obie. All the dogs did their turn at Corgi PR back in the barns between races allowin...
From back in February.... Hi Barb! Our lil puppy (still no name)  really had a blast in the snow zipping around in it.  She is so funny, when she eats she takes food out of her bowl,  throws it on the floor and picks out only the little bits she likes.  I think its the shredded chicken out of the pro plan that she is favoring.  I need to figure out how to get her to not do that.  Maybe I will try to find a sample of the beef version and see if she still does that.   Chase is really enjoying the puppy and says he loves her.  The cat is coming around a bit, still stays clear of her but I think once he realize she is here to stay they will eventually be friends.  Old dog is teaching her in his own way best he can how to carry on his skills. I hope your week is going well. Sharon
Sookie, Pucca and Dad   Sookie   My bed   The vet's no big deal...  Sookie is so funny, in many ways she's mellow by letting us pick her up and snuggle her, but she can be mischevious by stealing our shoes here and there! Also she's very brave- she figured out getting up and down the porch steps in 10 seconds and now she practically flies off of them. She was hilarious at the vet-we couldn't believe it. She stood completely still for the temperature, and then she pretty much started to fall asleep on the vet's table. I've included the picture.  Anyhow, things are going generally well, just working on potty training and such- typical puppyhood.  We're so impressed with how seldom she play-bites us. She's a good girl Hope things are well with the rest of your corgis! Thank you, Hannah & Ben Yim
Luna (aka Dudi)   Out shopping with Mom Hello Barb! I know it's almost six months into Luna (Dudi's new name) and I's relationship so I'm sorry for sending this so late into her new life. She is thriving, being a great companion! Luna gets to come to work with me to this peer counseling lounge where she is admired and petted by visitors and co-workers. She gets very excited when we get off work and races around the campus square. Luna has a few doggie friends whom she chases and gets chased by. She obliges being on a longboard (a large skateboard) while I push her along around the neighborhood on sunny days. She has two furry roommates- two cats, one of whom tries to play with her a lot.  She loves hikes around the Sound and has been very cultured through visits to the East coast, art museums. parades, cafes, special guest speakers, and other fun events.  Attached are some photos! I hope you are doing well! ~Iona
Peggy Cobb's "Sy Guy" running at SnoKing recently. Sy is a litter-brother of Rocky, for those who've met him at Barb's. Sy has grown into quite the athlete!
Here's a pair of the puppy girls trying to hold it together long enough to let someone take our picture (Thanks Jill!)
With the occasional warmer weather the babies are now playing in their outside pen. Life is good! Thank you Dave and Meg for the nice picture!
